Considering All Aspects, The Government Continues To Encourage Efforts To Control The Second Wave of Covid-19 in Indonesia

The Covid-19 pandemic has hit Indonesia for about 1.5 years.  Handling the impact of Covid-19 must be carried out carefully and consider various aspects. Currently, the number of positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia has recorded an increase, mainly due to the Delta variant.  The government continues to make various efforts to handle Covid-19 cases so that there are no spikes and increases in cases.  The government is accelerating the vaccination program so that communal immunity or herd immunity is immediately achieved because it believes that vaccination has a central role in handling Covid-19 and recovering the national economy. Currently, the vaccination program has reached 66.5 million vaccinations, consisting of the first dose of 46.7 million and the second dose of 19.8 million doses.

The government also continues to carry out Testing, Tracing, and Treatment (3T) and increase the availability of health service facilities as well as maintain the availability of oxygen and increase the supply of medicines.  To strengthen 3T, especially in increasing Tracing, the government encourages the use of the PeduliLindung application for the implementation of gigital tracing.  Digital tracing is the government's effort to identify and detect the public through tracking location data and information digitally. This application is connected and integrated with existing systems and databases at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), and using a QR Code will be able to track the data of people who have been vaccinated and the results of Testing (PCR Test or Antigen Swab). The public can download the PeduliLindung application on the App Store or Google Play and then have to activate location data (because this application is GPS-based) so that they can periodically identify locations and provide information related to the level of location risk and the zoning of the spread of Covid-19. In addition, the PeduliLindung application will also continue to be encouraged to be used as a screening tool for people who will carry out mobility and will be used as a Check-in Venue for people who will carry out activities or enter public places.

Based on a number of indicators of Covid-19 cases seen from the number of active case-based on the number of indicators of Covid-19 cases seen from the number of active cases, daily confirmation, death rate, positivity rate, and Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR), a number of areas outside Java and Bali still have not shown a decline. The government also continues to increase various efforts to control the spike inactive cases, including by : First, the 3M improvement, especially wearing masks, needs to be encouraged and supported by the mask distribution program. Second, to encourage the acceleration of vaccination in areas with the highest active cases, the Ministry of Health will encourage the distribution and supply of vaccines to the regions. Third, in the implementation of 3T, Testing needs to be improved, Tracing by increasing Tracer and Digital Tracing.

The implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) which is relatively stricter than before, especially for areas with PPKM Level 4, will limit various community mobility and activities. The Government also continues to issue several programs in the National Economic Recovery (PEN) effort by providing various additional programs to the community, UMKM, and UMK during the implementation of PPKM Level 4.
